If you have a fireplace, you want to make sure that you can have a fire whenever you want. You are going to need to make sure that you have the right tools to keep your fireplace ready to go at all times. The tools include tools that will get your fire going and keep it going, as well as tools to help keep your fireplace clean. A dirty fireplace can be really risky because it could carry things like embers up into your chimney, which increases the risk of fire in your chimney. So, what are some of the tools that you are going to need?

1. Bellows

One of the things that you are going to need to have is handmade bellows. A bellows is a tool that lets you blow air into the fire. They have traditionally been used manually, but there are also bellows that are powered, so all you have to do is push a button and get the bellows working. The way that the bellows works is that it has two handles with material that is fan-folded and attached to the handles, creating a sealed chamber. Then there is a nozzle on one end. When the handles are separated, the chamber expands, sucking in air. Then when they are pushed back together, the air blows out and can fan the embers of the fire to get it going again or keep it going.

2. Shovel

Another tool that you should have is a small shovel. A shovel often comes as part of a fireplace toolset. You want to have the shovel because it will help you keep the fireplace nice and clean. After every fire you have, once everything is cool, you need to make sure that your fireplace is clean. A shovel will let you scoop out all the ashes as well as any larger chunks of leftover wood or other material that didn't burn completely. You can also use the edge of the shovel in order to scrape anything off the bottoms or sides of the fireplace. For example, if you use a wax firestarter, you may end up with that wax on your fireplace, which can be messy. You can use the shovel to scrape that up, leaving your fireplace looking cleaner.

If you have a fireplace, you want to make sure that you can have a fire whenever you are ready. The right tools will let that happen.
